Does "Non-Profit" Mean "Non-Salaried"?
According to most annual national reports, non-profit writers tend to earn slightly less on average than their counterparts in government or private organizations. However, non-profits also tend to compensate their workers with better employer-provided benefits or favorable job characteristics such as a flexible work schedule.
Common Misconception:
The word "non-profit" does not mean that employees work for free, in fact, non-profits are required to comply by the same minimum wage standards imposed on other businesses. Staff earns a regular salary, just like they would at a corporate office or private foundation. |
